Overview

Illuman is a nonprofit that stewards and expands the men's work inspired by Franciscan teacher Richard Rohr. Formed in 2011 to carry the movement forward independently, it now oversees chapters across the United States and in several other countries.

Its cornerstone is the Men's Rites of Passage (MROP), a five-day wilderness experience built on the classic patterns of male initiation through ritual, silence, and teaching. Rooted in a contemplative, cross-cultural spirituality, the MROP has been experienced by thousands of men and is designed to help them move from a first, ego-driven "half of life" toward deeper purpose and service.

Illuman sustains this work through regional communities, ongoing gatherings, and a stated commitment to welcoming men across faiths, cultures, and backgrounds.
